The Kaposi“s sarcoma (KS) is a neoangiogenic tumor that occurs almost exclusively in males, both in the classic form and in the more common HIV-associated form. In this image an immunocytochemical staining of ERβ in human KS cells is illustrated, suggesting that estrogen receptor may be considered as a potential target for developing novel therapeutic strategies for KS patients.(from Klouche & Carruba, 2006: in preparation).
